How to use this tool

  1. Choose an unencrypted PDF without interactive form fields.
  2. Draw, move or resize areas on each relevant page; adjust exact percentages if needed.
  3. Create the redacted PDF, download it and review every page before sharing.

A new image-only PDF with selected areas blacked out. The original is unchanged and is not uploaded.

Processing and files

This public tool works in your browser without uploading the document. Optional drafts saved on this device can be removed when browser data is cleared.

One PDF up to 30 MB and 25 pages; up to 100 areas and 40 MB output. Tools can refuse encrypted, signed or unsupported interactive documents.

Before you start

One PDF up to 30 MB / 25 pages and 100 areas. All pages become 150 DPI images in a new PDF, including pages without selected areas. Searchable text, forms, links, bookmarks, attachments and source metadata are discarded. A small pixel margin is added around each area. Up to 16 million pixels per page, 100 million total and 40 MB output. Signed, encrypted, XFA and interactive-field PDFs are refused; flatten ordinary form fields separately first. Review the page images and cover every sensitive representation yourself. This does not automatically find confidential information.

One send means one document workflow sent to one recipient or recipient group; a bulk delivery to 100 independent recipients uses 100 sends. Test failures do not consume sends. No automatic overage charges: a paid top-up would require confirmation. Proposed top-up: €5 / 100 sends. Paid identity verification, SMS, qualified electronic signatures and trusted timestamps are not included.
